What did we do all September?

We surely didn't bike or hike or do anything fun and outdoorsy like that. Boo! Danielle was busy driving Rob back and forth to work because of his broken foot. He had a Jones fracture which is very hard to heal. The doctor suggested surgery, so that's what he did. He was in a cast for 4 weeks and couldn't put any weight on the foot at all. It was his left foot. And we have a manual transmission! So Danielle and Eliza stayed busy around the house or around Durham. Since she had the car every day, she didn't feel like hopping on the bike to ride anywhere. It's much easier to do that when you don't have a car available to drive! In early September, Eliza's friend Braylin came over for a couple hours to play. Here's a quick video of them playing outside on the back deck. It's so nice to have friends who live nearby. And to think, for so long, Danielle struggled with not having close friends nearby to hang out with. It's one thing to have good friends you love, but when those friends are 10 miles away and you don't have access to a car all the time, you really start to feel isolated! In early September also, Danielle found a great program to take Eliza to on Friday mornings. It's called Discovery Playhouse and it's at Walltown Recreation Center. It's basically like an indoor play space program with toys, balls, tunnels, music, scooter boards, tricycles, giant dominoes, parachute, kid sized basketball and soccer, and probably some more stuff that I don't remember right now. Here's a couple pictures of Eliza having fun there: That last picture of her climbing on the bleachers looks scarier than it really was. She's a really good climber and she really enjoys going up and down steps. She'd probably spend 20 minutes easily just on the bleachers at Discovery Playhouse if allowed! We do have some videos of her playing at Discovery Playhouse, but we've gotta upload them to YouTube first. We have so much fun just hanging out at home, too. Eliza really loves our dogs, Gunnie and Taylor. She hugs and kisses on them all the time. Here's some pictures of her loving on the pups: The last video I'll post here today is this one. Eliza is finally giving some attention to Taylor, who usually is ignored since she's the little one and doesn't get in people's faces that much. Sometimes we forget that we even have a beagle named Taylor, she's that quiet! Anyway, Eliza loves the dogs, but pays 99% of her attention to Gunnie. That is, until this day, when I filmed this video of Eliza giving Taylor all the attention and giving Gunnie the cold shoulder!
