Summary of July Bike Rides
Bike ride #1: Rode from our house to the Cardinal Lakes neighborhood pool. I was teaching a swim lesson there, and Eliza was able to splash around in the shallow end with my friend watching her, while I taught my friend's nephew how to swim. Cardinal Lakes is a new home community in NE Durham, and it was only a 4 mile ride to the pool. Eliza rode in her new iBert Safe-T-Seat that Rob got for super cheap at work. We bought this bike seat specifically so that we would use it on our summer vacation trip up to Michigan. We knew that our car would be jam packed with stuff, and bringing her bike trailer with us wasn't going to be an option. Anyway, she enjoyed riding in this very different kind of bike seat. Here's 2 pictures of our Cardinal Lakes day.
What a cutie pie, huh?
Bike ride #2: Rob, Danielle and Eliza drove to High Point, NC so that Rob could do a bike race. It was an individual time trial race. It was really, really hot that day. While Rob did his ITT race, Eliza and I hung out in the shade on our outdoor blanket and tried our best to keep cool. We did a very, very short bike ride near the bike race course. But it qualifies as a bike ride, so here's a few pics of this ride.
Bike ride #3: Rob, Danielle and Eliza rode from home to Twin Lakes Park. We've been here before and have written about this park in an earlier blog post from February. We used the iBert Safe-T-Seat again. It's a very short ride to the park from our house. Once we got there, we played at the playground and then rode around the lake, pointing out the ducks and geese to Eliza. Here's 2 pictures of this bike ride:
That's it for the bike rides in July. Well, local rides that is...because we're heading up to Michigan the day after tomorrow, and I know that we'll be going for at least a bike ride sometime up there. Check back for the next blog post soon!
